New York Nights :: Harboring Hearts Here’s a shout out for a good friend of mine in New York. Who doesn’t love Michelle?! When I first started Bon Vivant, she worked with us on the first client event I produced at The Bowery Hotel for Cancer 101. It is no surprise that she started her own non-profit, shortly thereafter. This month, she will host the Harboring Hearts Fall benefit at The Core Club. Invitation below and info here. Michelle Javian (pictured above in middle) is Co-founder of Harboring Hearts. She started the organization in honor of her father, who lost his battle to heart disease after a heart transplant in 2008. After witnessing firsthand the need that existed for refuge and community support for heart patients and their families, she co-founded Harboring Hearts in 2009. In 2009 Michelle was awarded the Maurice Gurin Memorial Scholarship by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She was chosen as a Rosewood Hotel and Resorts “30 Under 30” winner in 2010 and received the Wall Street Journal’s “Donor of the Day” in 2012. Michelle was recognized as a CNN Hero in 2014. She holds a B.A. from Georgetown University in Healthcare Management (2006).
