Both have a unique vibe and audience COACHELLA 2013 | APRIL 29, 2013 | BY: NICHOLE WRIGHT Los Angeles Examiner | Arts & Entertainment In 2012, due to popular demand, Coachella was cloned into two weekends. A brilliant idea for the host, GoldenVoice, as well as festival-goers. Demand for tickets is still very high, but how do things stack-up in the 2nd year as a two weekend event? The festival hosts 180,000 attendees over two weekends and continues to flourish, but they are slightly different. Although the same acts perform on almost an identical bill – are the two weekends really the same? Not really. It seems like each weekend has developed it’s own personality and vibe. Just like a kid waiting to open Christmas presents, weekend 1 is for those who just have to be the first. There is alot of hype and it’s a branding bonanza for companies with the the dough.
