Love is ART Recent outings inspired me to focus on art as of late. The Art Los Angeles Contemporary Fair was held last weekend and there was alot of colorful paintings and sculpture. Every year there is also more and more digital art. The Barker Hanger had a VIP kick-off party at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, with over 80 galleries from all over the world participating. One of the highlights on Saturday was getting a behind the scenes private tour at the DVF “Journey of a Dress” exhibit (see photo in center of collage.) The photo of the woman in black & white (bottom center) is a piece by Robert Longo, hung at the installation. Some of the other pictures featured here are Banksy and Warhol. All of them remind me of LOVE and Valentines Day. What are you doing? Create something. The “guitar valentine” (far left) is something I created during my volunteer day with the Art of Elysium kids at Kaiser Permanente. Paper, glue, scissors, cutouts, feathers, buttons and wood. For a much larger valentine, how about one-of-a-kind abstract painting for couples? See the post: “Love is Art.” Something more simple? Create your own “Latte Art.” Simplify coffee every day and cut your Starbucks bill in half with this Nespresso coffee maker (top left). I recently bought the red “Pixie” as a gift, foamer unattached, which makes for a great find under $250. XOXO
