Dwell on Design: Inspiring creativity, not just for designers and a new award

This past weekend, the nation’s largest design event offered a full host of discussions, demonstrations, home tours and a diverse array of exhibits covering every aspect of the modern lifestyle. A major boon for Los Angeles’ economy, attendance this year was up over 12% from last year. Combined with Dwell on Design week, almost 35,000 visitors experienced an entire series of events, parties and a huge exhibition floor.

Clearly a show for progressive thinkers and creative minds, it was opportune this year to create a new award for leading modern designers. The inaugural “Vision Award” will select three finalists, to be announced this fall. Finalists then will be flown to New York at a VIP awards celebration, there the winner will be announced. The award is being presented in cooperation with the Big Ass Fan Company. Dwell is accepting submissions until August 30, 2013 for projects completed in 2012.
