Meet Kathy Eldon in New York this week in Chelsea. Inspiration she is! When I first moved to LA, I was introduced to her by a friend who is a mover & shaker in the Manhattan fundraising world who is a psychologist – thank-you Lorraine Cancro! It is always the New Yorkers who continuously connect – it’s in the blood. She was right, I loved Kathy right when I met her. If being welcomed into her gorgeous Malibu home right on the ocean wasn’t enough, I was further inspired by her energy and generosity. As well as our similar backgrounds, born in Iowa, spent over a decade in New York City + thirst for adventure, travel and risk.

Well, she’s throwing a party in New York to celebrate the launch of her latest book. Go meet her, her daughter Amy and her staff! This gripping international saga includes a passionate love, a dangerous coup in Kenya, and a compelling glimpse into a woman on the brink of self-discovery. After her son’s murder, Kathy began to publish his art, which gained popularity worldwide and—together with her daughter, Amy—launched a global foundation celebrating Dan’s work as a creative activist.
