Back to Black & White Fashion Week Spring 2014 in New York concludes. Going back to black (and white) is a much welcomed palette cleanser. After several years of wild colors, neons and digital prints, a more classic look ruled the runways. Although hues of Poppy were thrown in along the way and florals are everywhere, black & white hues that channeled the 80’s were pretty dominant. The juxtaposition of hard and soft, fierce yet feminine, polar opposites seen as metaphors, this is black & white! The real benefit of these two shades is their melding together in a contrasting design, almost impossible for the viewer to ignore. Our inspiration board this week captures some of our favorite looks on the runway and from the party scene. The drink of choice….Champagne, which was served at the Philip Lim for Target party. Black & White Cookies are notable to New York as a favorite deli treat. Wrapped up in a DIY decor box, they are a perfect party parting gift.
