When Life Gives you Lemons…

Well, you know what they say…”When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” This is exactly the kind of “can-do” attitude that Charity Water has. I was inspired by members of their leadership who were in from New York last week. For those of you who don’t know what they do, Charity Water, brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. 100% of all public donations directly fund water projects, which is pretty amazing – in 20 countries globally.

Given the unfortunate situation of women and children in Africa alone, who bear the burden of collecting water (40 billion hours each year walking for water) this non-profit really steps it up to create the “Lemonade.” Or water better said, which opens up opportunities. Water = health, income and education, especially for women and kids. Sweet!

On Friday, Kristy and I were at their installation during the Fourth Estate Summit at UCLA. The prominent color of the Jerrycan’s and their logo encouraged the creation of a “Canary Yellow” themed board. It is a bright color that is fun, optimistic, yet neutral per gender, with so many shades. For something more formal, team it up with grey for parties. As well as the items that go with it we recommend, the Cucumber Rosemary Lemonade, Lemon Bars and DIY centerpiece. Princess Kate loves yellow it and we hope you do too!
