Designers Choice &Street Style Goes Luxe Although I love design, speaking about it is not something I generally do. Most of the time, I am behind the scenes as an event producer. Why not? The creative concepting of an event does have alot to do with design. This past weekend was the WestEdge Design Fair in Santa Monica. Founder and producer, Megan Reilly, put on quite a showing. In the past she has put on the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Joseph Matthews, interior designer at Interior Illusions and myself collaborated to present a workshop on “Entertaining & Tablescape Design.” From hosting an intimate supper for friends or a relaxed evening at home, to preparing for holiday entertaining and festivities, we shared styling and staging tips to create the perfect environment. Above is our “vision board.” The theme was “Street Style Goes Luxe” which derived from modern design trends, the NYC runways and our own personal style. The look turned out be eclectic yet dramatic. Black and white, with a splash of blood red, metallics of silver and gold. Perhaps this theme provides the perfect Halloween party inspiration? Check decor above from II’s showroom. How perfect are those decorative skulls? Learn how to make Blood Orange Martini, with dry ice and warm Petite Quiches. For the actual rose centerpiece above, dye your own.
