#BVFaves :: Holiday Wines

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. Then there was #BlackFriday, followed by #SmallBusinessSaturday, #CyberMonday and #GivingTuesday – it’s finally the weekend and party time is nigh. Lets bring on the wine! The holidays is a time for sharing wonderful food. But what’s a lavish meal without great wine?

As a Wine Ambassador for Boisset Family Estates, I have discovered so many wines that I love – whether drinking at home, planning a party or gifting.

Here are a few personal picks for holiday meals:

Red: The 2011 Raymond Sommelier Selection Cabernet Sauvignon opens with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf and licorice. This full-bodied elegant wine is fills the palate with flavors of cherry, black currant grilled Portobello mushrooms and black pepper. The wine displays an excellent structure and perfect balance. On sale for $20.

White: The Buena Vista Chardonnay is rich and vibrant enough to stand up to heavier dishes. This Sonoma Chardonnay was aged in French Oak barrels (25%) as well as stainless steel. Apple, pear, toasted almond. This is an exclusive bottling available only through Wine Ambassadors for $20.

Sparkling: The effervescence of champagne or sparkling wine isn’t only festive, but it also balances out the rich foods of the holiday table. While effortless to enjoy, our JCB No. 21 Brut is a perfect choice for $25 a bottle. Crisp and bracing, it also has the tiniest bit of luminous creaminess. Hello New Years Eve!

Why not take advantage of all 3 of them in our Holiday Case Sampler from our American & French vineyards? Th retail value is the wine is $314.00, but through 12/31/2013 it is offered at a price of $266.90.

Did I mention that DeLoach is organic & biodynamic and Lyeth is the US pioneer of Meritage blends. Looking for “party wines” under $20, that’s Lockwood. For serious wine drinkers, we have plenty of reserve offerings.

Many of the photos above are from the vineyards and tasting rooms in Napa and Sonoma. Boisset has gorgeous venues – ideal for all kinds of special events. If your planning a trip to wine country this spring/summer, let me know as I can make VIP arrangements.
